Frequently Asked Questions

 

I have attempted to address the most commonly asked questions, please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries.....

 

How do I order a cake?

To start the order process, please send an email to elegantcakes@iinet.net.au containing all the following information:

  • the date of your event

  • the occasion/nature of your event (wedding, birthday, christening, etc)

  • the event location, delivery address, and delivery time

  • how many people you will need to serve

  • your daytime phone number

  • your email address

  • an idea of what kind of cake design you are looking for

 

Payment Terms



Cakes

  • A minimum 3 weeks notice is required for a cake order / booking.

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking.

  • The balance of your cake order is to be paid 1 week before delivery.

  • Your order is not confirmed until we have received your signed contract and 50% non-refundable deposit.

  • We only accept bank transfer or cash.

  • Upon receipt of your order and deposit, you will be emailed a copy of your invoice.

 

Wedding Cakes

  • A minimum 2 months notice is required for a wedding cake order / booking.

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking.

  • The balance of your wedding cake order is to be paid 2 weeks prior to the wedding date. 

  • Your order is not confirmed until we have received your signed contract and 50% non-refundable deposit.

  • We only accept bank transfer or cash.

  • Upon receipt of your order and deposit, you will be emailed a copy of your invoice.

 

Please note some cakes can be turned around with a weeks notice. Contact us if you require a cake within the above timeframes and we will advise of date availability.

 

Cancellations

If you cancel your order, your balance payment is refundable minus an administration fee of $50, provided Elegant Cake Creations is notified at least five (5) business days prior to the event. There is no payment refund on orders cancelled within five (5) business days of the event.

 

Event dates are held for you through the date of your appointment or quote, and five (5) business days afterwards.  If we do not receive a signed contract and 50% deposit within five (5) business days of your appointment or quote, your date may become unavailable.

 

Collection / Delivery

Cakes can be collected just prior to the required date. Delivery is not offered at this stage.

 

 

Cake & Ganache Flavours

Commonly requested cakes and fillings include:



  • Chocolate Mud Cake, White Chocolate Mud Cake, Caramel Mud Cake

  • Vanilla Cake, Coconut Cake

  • Carrot & Orange Cake, Banana Cake, Orange & Poppy Seed Cake

  • Red Velvet Cake, Raspberry Vanilla Swirl Cake, Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Cake



Other cake flavours are available.

 

Ganache options include dark chocolate ganache, white chocolate ganache and caramel ganache. Alternative flavouring tints includes peppermint, musk, caramel, raspberry, mint etc.



I have dietary restrictions. Can you help?

Unfortunately due to the nature of our novelty work we are unable to satisfy gluten free and dairy free requests.  We are also unable to guarantee that our cakes do not have nuts, eggs etc and as a result do not handle customers with allergy requests.

 

Portion Sizes

What is the difference between a coffee and a dessert portion? A dessert portion is roughly 25 x 50 x 90 mm, double the size of a coffee portion. If your wedding includes a three-course meal, coffee portions are usually ample. If serving the cake as a course on its own, dessert portions are advised.

 

Copyright Images

Please note Elegant Cake Creations does not create any cakes with copyright images. What we can do is a cake themed to the design you require and you can add purchased licensed products to the cake afterwards.

 

It is a violation of Copyright Legislation for a cake decorator to decorate any product they SELL with an identical copy or close likeness of copyrighted movie, TV, cartoon, or comic book character without permission of the copyright owners.
